Yukarin Story

☆昭和３３年８月２８日 28 August 1958

　諏訪市にて父金子松樹、母しづ子の２女として生まれる。超〜安産。母が「あら」 と言ううちに大声で泣き出す。その声は分娩室を超えて、廊下に響くという病院開業以 来の声（というもっぱらの噂）。母親の手に渡される以前から、助産婦さんの手の中で 大暴れ。初めて言葉を喋ったときには、「ゆかちゃん」との問いかけに「いい子ね」と 答える。「だから今でもいい子です」とは本人の弁。
Kaneko Yukari was born in Suwa-shi on 28 August 1958 between Kaneko Matsuki and Kaneko Shizuko. When she was born, her first cry reached to the all part of the hospital. When she was called "Yuka-chan," she spoke her first words, "There is a good girl." That is why she still believes that she is good.

本人「生まれたときのことは、事実無根？」
Yukarin: The story of my birth is only a fiction, probably.

母（天国から）「ゆかりは本当に手の掛かる子で……。でもいい子ねと答えたのは 本当です」
Mother (from heaven): She was really a baby ... but it is true that she replied, "There is a good girl."

☆昭和40年４月 April 1965

　両親、姉みすずの暖かい家庭ですくすく育つ。あちこち走り回って、家族に心配 をかけるが、住まいを別にしていた祖父母をしばしば訪れて喜ばせる。誰にも教えられ ないのに、いつの間にか新聞記事を読んでるのに母は戸惑うが、以後、金子家では全国 紙と県民紙、地元紙を購入する。この年、諏訪市立城南小学校入学。クラスの人気者に なる。
She was educated in Jonan elementary school. Before going to school, she had already started reading a newspaper.

☆昭和49年３月〜　from March 1974

　上諏訪中学校入学。元気で人気者のキャラクターは失わず、成績優秀が新しいキ ャラクターに加わる。国語、数学から、音楽、体育まで、すべて通知票に５（５段階で す。１０段階ではありません、念のため）の成績で卒業という噂。この頃から「古典落 語」を読み始める。こんにちの親父ギャグの起源と思われる。
At Kamisuwa junior high school, she was very popular among pupils and teachers due to her delightful personality. She began to read Classics of Rakugo (Japanese Comic Stories), which seems to be a source of her out-of-date jokes. She graduated from the junior high school with straight As.

☆昭和49年４月 April 1974

　長野県立諏訪二葉高等学校首席（あるいは末席）入学。「おもしろい子が入って 来た」と職員室で話題になった（らしい）。たまたま図書室で読んだマキャベリ「君主 論」に心を打たれる（実は漫画「ベルサイユの薔薇」だったという噂もある）。飾り気 のない人気者でありながら、秘かに政治学書を読み始める。
She entered Hutaba High School and became a topic in the teachers office. They said, "This year we have a very exciting student." She started reading books on politics (or comics on the Great French Revolution).

☆昭和52年３月 March, 1977

　３月、二葉高等学校を卒業。「桜の花園の春は蝉の館の夏と化し、もみじの錦の 秋は綿帽子の冬となり、雪解けの坂道を登るのも今日が最後となりました」と始まり 「魂の永久のふるさと、学びの舎のその名は二葉」で締めくくる卒業生代表のことばを 述べる。
She graduated from the high school and made a speech at the graduation as a representative student.

　この頃、文学的センスに気がついた国語教師から、某国立大学の推薦を打診され る。慶應大学で政治学を学びたいと思っていたゆかりちゃんであるが、模試はいま一歩 。模試の結果を見ながら「あしたは……大学の推薦をしてもらおう」と思いながら、床 につく。
Those days, her teacher who noticed her literary ability recommended her to go to a national university. She once decided to go to that university as her favorite Keio University seemed to be a bid difficult to enter for her.

　ふと、目が覚めると、お隣の田んぼに無数の黄金の蛇がとぐろをまいている。そ の輝きを見た時「これで慶應は大丈夫」と確信する。（これ、夢だったんですよね〜〜 ）ところが、ゆかりちゃんは、翌日「慶應で政治学を学びます」と担任に告げる。４月 、見事に、慶應大学法学部政治学科入学。桜の舞い散る日吉の坂を駆け上がる。
That very night she dreamed that a lot of snakes shined in the neighboring rice paddy. She was sure at that time that she could pass the entrance examination of Keio University. So, she said to the teacher, "I would like to study politics at Keio University". In April her dream came true and she was admitted to Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law, Keio University.

本人「蛇の夢は本当です。みなさん、蛇の夢は吉兆です」
Yukarin: The dream of snakes is true. Please believe that if you dream snakes it is a good sign.

☆昭和52年４月より昭和56年３月 from April 1977 to March 81

　大学に来ないことが当たり前の、当時の政治学科において、こつこつと通学。天 真爛漫な人柄は多くの学生に愛され、こつこつ作られたノートは「金子ノート」として 試験期間、コピーが出回る。誰隔てなく、ニコニコと貸していた。スポーツキャスター の青島健太くんも貸してもらったひとり。青島くんが「君の名は？」と尋ねたことは 「新・君の名は」として慶應で有名な話となる。
She was very popular and diligent in the university. Her lecture notes were also very popular among students including a student named Aoshima who later became a sports caster.

　政治学科では、生田正輝教授のもと、マスコミ論を専攻。同じく政治思想の多田 真鋤教授からも薫陶を受ける。
She majored in Media Studies with Professor Masaki Ikuta. Among professors who taught her was Professor Masuki Tada of Political Ideas.

クラブ活動として三田文学塾生会に入部。クラブは、わがままなメンバーばかり。 何とかクラブを存続できたのはゆかりちゃんのおかげと、みんなひねくれ者なので口に はださないが、深く感謝していた。ほかに慶応ソフィアテニスクラブに所属し、テニス を楽しむ。
She entered Mitabungaku Jukusei-Kai, a club of creative writing. This had a lot of eccentric members and it was she who saved the club. She was also a member of Keio Sophia Tennis Club and played tennis.

本人「私のノートは人気薄でした」
Yukarin: My lecture notes were not so popular.

友人Ａ「青島さんの君の名は事件は本当です。青島さん、覚えているかな」
Friend A: The tale on Aoshima is true.

友人Ｂ「三田文学塾生会は、部員の半分が留年。３割は中退という悲惨なクラブで した」
Friend B: Mitabun was truly miserable club. 30 per cent of its members were dropped those days.

☆昭和５６年 1981

　慶應大学卒業。服部セイコー入社。営業部門、企画部門、輸出入部門、役員秘書、 開発部門など、あいかわらずの明るい人柄、抜群の事務能力で会社に貢献する。仕事に 必要なこともあって、多忙な中、英会話に磨きをかける。また銀座界隈の美味しい店開 拓に力を入れる。
After graduating from Keio University, she entered Hattori Seiko Co. and worked in various sections. While working there, she started brushing up her English and eagerly looked for delicious restaurants in Ginza.

☆昭和５８年 1983

　便所壺事件発生。新婚の友人を尋ねて九州に。佐賀県有田（陶器で有名）を友人 夫婦とともに訪れる。「ちょっとトイレ」と行ったきり、帰ってこない。心配した友人 夫婦が見たものは！　くみ取り式便所に落とした財布をひろいあげ、そこのおじさんと 小銭を洗っていた姿！！もちろん財布もきれいに洗っていました。「彼女、うんがつい たわ」と友人夫妻。
The so-called toilet-incident occurred. In Kyushu, she dropped her wallet in a traditional-type toilet. Then she picked it up and washed up the dirty coins and her wallet completely. The Japanese word "Un (stool)" also means good luck, so her friends believed she had very good luck.

本人「絶対にうそと思ったけど、そういえば……。ともかくあの 時、ウンを洗い落とさなければ、今ごろは……」
Yukarin: First I thought it was not true definitely but I remember ... . Anyway, if I had not washed up the good luck, I would have been ... .

友人Ａ「私は目撃した」
Friend A: I witnessed it.

友人Ｂ「金子ゆかり史上最大のミステリー」
Friend B: This is the greatest mystery in the history of Yukarin.

☆平成６年 1994

　母が重病の宣告をうけ、看病のため、セイコー社の慰留を断り、帰郷。諏訪から 東京まで母を救急車で運び手術させるも間もなく逝去。しばらく泣いて過ごすも「庭に もずが来て、おかあさんが帰ってきたのよ」と元気になる。毎日、墓参りをかかさず、 まわりの墓も掃除をしていた。県会議員をしていた父、金子松樹の秘書を本格的に始め る。この頃から、地域活動に積極的に参加する。
Yukarin's mother suffered from a grave disease. To care her, she quit her job and return to Suwa, but her mother passed away before long. She always wept those days and cleaned up the grave of her mother and other neighboring graves everyday. Finally she became as energetic as she had been and began to work as a secretary of her Father, Mr. Matsuki Kaneko, a member of Nagano Prefectural Assembly and to engage in various community services.

☆平成８年 1996

　アルペン男子ワールドカップ白馬大会にてアメリカチーム通訳ボランティアとし て活躍。また、長野県「信州青年洋上セミナー」の研修部長として中国・韓国を訪問。 アジアとの繋がりの大切さ、国際社会の重要さを知る。
She volunteered her services at Hakuba Alpine World Cup as an interpreter for the American team. Then, she visited China and Korea as a prefectural seminar member and realized the importance of international exchange.

☆平成９年 1997　

　長野冬季オリンピック開催にむけて、諏訪市国際交流協会理事に就任。学生時代 からの諸外国の訪問に続き、一層の外国訪問をする。こうした経験と鍛えた語学力で理 事の任務を遂行。「頼られると断れない」性格ゆえに多忙な日々をおくる。同時に、こ れも断れずに諏訪地区のさまざまな問題について相談を持ちかけられる。働くお母さん の問題、お年寄りの介護問題、地域活性の問題……などなど。ゆかりちゃん、一生懸命 に考え、行動する。
She became a board member of Suwa International Exchange Association. She was very busy in visiting foreign countries in doing community services.

☆平成10年 1998

　長野冬季オリンピック、アメリカ選手団付き通訳ボランティアをする。選手村と 親戚宅に泊まり込みの日々が続く。裏方の激務は携帯電話が通じないほど。国民性の違 いを語学と笑顔で乗り切って、感激のフィナーレ。また、姉妹都市セント・ルイス市長 夫妻やＮＨＫの外国人記者の「御柱祭」案内兼通訳をする。長野ボランティアについて は大会前に長野日報にエッセイを連載し好評をえる。
She volunteered her services as an interpreter for the American Team at Nagano Olympic Game. She passed very very busy days. At the Onbashira festival in Suwa she worked as a guide and interpreter for the mayor of St. Louis, Suwa's sister city, and a foreign reporter of NHK.

本人「トラブルの連続でした。本当に良い経験をしました」
Yukarin: I had a truly good experience although we faced a lot of problems one after another.

友人Ｃ「オリンピックのテレビを見ていたら、金子さんがちらっと映ったよ」
Friend C: During the game, I glanced at her in TV.

☆平成10年 1998

　ようやく諏訪に帰ると（社）諏訪青年会議所理事に就任。「まちづくり委員会委 員長」になる。「ぼくらまちの環境探偵団」のイベントを打って、御柱祭にあわせ、ゴ ミ問題を考える「ゴミ柱」を曳行する。男と女、子どもと大人、障害者と介護者を平等 な立場として、教育、環境、福祉、文化と活動のジャンルを問わず皆で手をとりあって 大きな力にしようという「共生ネットワーク」を提唱。多くの市民団体に賛同される。
She became a board member of Suwa Junior Chamber and the Chair of its Community Development Committee. She hosted the PR event for environmental protection. She proposed Live-together Network as a vision, in which men and women, adults and children, people with disabilities and caretakers for them, are equal and live together by making their powers into a big force.

☆平成11年１月11日 11 January 1999

　11．１．11という縁起の良い日に「金子ゆかり三田会ファンクラブ」設立。会長 に生田正輝名誉教授。ゆかりちゃんにお世話になった人、迷惑をかけた人、秘かに振ら れた人などなどで後方応援をすることを確約。
Kaneko Yukari Mitakai Fan Club was established.
